Support
& Trustee Advisory Services
What
STAS Has to Offer
Support
and Trustee Advisory Services assists families by providing
information and assistance to families about planning for
the future - wills, trusts, and financial and estate planning.
Special
Arrangements For Trust Funds
In
the past, there have been several problems families face around
trust funds - who to name as trustee; having enough money
to qualify for a trust company's trustee services; making
sure the trustee stays in touch with the family member who
has a disability.
To
address these issues, STAS has entered into an arrangement
with Royal Trust. The arrangement means that families
have access to trustee services for their sons and daughters
at a reasonable cost.
- Royal
Trust acts as a Trustee. It manages the trust funds.
To maximize financial returns, individual trust amounts
are pooled for investment purposes. Each individual
fund, however, remains distinct.
- Because
many families will be involved, the minimum amount for an
individual trust fund is $10,000 (instead of the far greater
sums usually required).
- Support
and Trustee Advisory Services is named as the advisor to
Royal Trust in all individual trusts.
- Support
and Trustee Advisory Services will be the liaison between
the Royal Trust and the individual and his/her network of
support.
